Biden to travel Tuesday to Buffalo following mass shooting

President Biden and to start with girl Jill Biden will vacation Tuesday to Buffalo, New York, “to grieve with the neighborhood that shed 10 lives in a senseless and horrific mass taking pictures,” the White Residence reported Sunday. 

Ten folks were being killed and three hurt Saturday in what officers are calling a dislike crime and a scenario of racially inspired violent extremism. The suspect, 18-12 months-aged Payton Gendron, was arraigned Saturday on a charge of murder in the first diploma, the most intense murder cost less than New York legislation. He pleaded not guilty.

Buffalo authorities on Sunday unveiled the names and ages of the victims, who ranged in age from 32 to 86. These are the victims:

• Andre Mackneil, 53, of Auburn, N.Y.
• Aaron Salter, 55, of Lockport, N.Y.
• Geraldine Talley, 62, of Buffalo
• Celestine Chaney, 65, of Buffalo
• Heyward Patterson, 67, of Buffalo
• Katherine Massey, 72, of Buffalo
• Pearl Youthful, 77, of Buffalo
• Ruth Whitfield, 86, of Buffalo 

Mr. Biden mentioned Sunday that he has been getting updates from the White Dwelling, which is operating with the Justice Section. 

“We are still gathering the points now the Justice Office has said publicly and as investigating the matter as a despise criminal offense, racially enthusiastic act of white supremacy and violent extremism as they do,” Mr. Biden claimed. “We should all do the job with each other to address the despise. The continues to be the stain on the soul of American hearts are major when once more. What a take care of will have to never ever at any time waver.”

A White Home formal reported Sunday that Mr. Biden experienced spoken to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who is from Buffalo, and he had reached out to the city’s mayor, Byron Brown.

Brown informed CBS News’ “Face the Country” on Sunday that the suspect, who is White, “came in this article listed here to choose as quite a few Black life as possible.” Of the 13 victims, 11 have been Black.
